This new three song EP entitled “What’s Up Doc? (available on Dazed & Confused Records) will definitely have you running for a check up do to its infectious grooves. This collaboration is the product of tech house heavy hitters Lee Van Dowski and Dean Demanuele. Van Dowski, has been in the game for quite some time, with releses on labels such as Cadenza, Memento and Material Series. Demanuele, a serious player in the industry as well has seem releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock label as well as others.

Up first, is a tracks that seriously gets under your skin and makes you move. “What’s Up Doc?” has a punchy bass, with deep swells, sporadic percussion and a driving synth that sounds like a evil mosquito from a parallel universe.

Second, is a track simply entitled “Mine O Mine.” Frankly speaking I wish it was mine. Waiting for my copy guys! It is a great track with a simple non assuming deep bass line and a fat fuzzy synth, slightly reminiscent of the the old 303 jams back in the day. I’m particularly fond of the percussion as it has a slight drive to it but laid back at the same time.

Number three on the hit list is a slightly more sophisticated track that makes me want to put on a clean pair of knickers and some proper shoes. As I digress! “Shove it Up” has a wonderful deep and tight bass line, with crispy high hats, a skippy beat and a pleasant sounding synth pad floating over the top of the track. You will not be disappointed with this release.
